The Cunning Little Vixen (Screening) at The Clore Ballroom
Overview
Leos Janacek's opera is transformed into a feature-length, family-friendly animation in this 2003 BBC TV film designed and directed by Geoff Dunbar. Based on a 1920s cartoon series in a Czech newspaper, the story follows the adventures of a young vixen in the forest, and also serves as a philosophical reflection on the cycle of life and death. Influenced by the sounds of the forest, the enchanting music draws heavily on Moravian folk music of the time.
