Robin Harris, Laura Anstee: Hungry Hearts at Kings Place
Overview
A classic silent melodrama with a new commissioned score performed live. Considered one of the greatest Jewish movies of all time, Hungry Hearts is a 1922 silent movie adaptation of Ania Yezierska’s story of a Jewish family who escape Tsarist Russia, to find a better life in America. The soundtrack performed by Robin Harris and Laura Anstee is a dynamic fusion of original compositions, Klezmer melodies and live improvised selections performed on piano, trombone, lyra, tuba, mbira and cello.
