Save The Last Dance For Me at New Wimbledon Theatre
Overview
This touring musical comes courtesy of Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the sitcom-writing duo behind TV's 'Goodnight Sweetheart', 'Birds of a Feather' and 'Shine on Harvey Moon', who also created the hit stage show 'Dreamboats and Petticoats'. It features the classic rock'n'roll hits of Pomus and Shuman, including 'A Teenager in Love', 'Sweets for my Sweet', 'Turn Me Loose', 'Here I Go Again', 'Viva Las Vegas', 'Little Sister', 'His Latest Flame', 'Suspicion' and 'Can’t Get Used to Losing You'. 'Save the Last Dance for Me' takes audiences back to the early '60s. It follows two teenage sisters as they set off on their summer holidays - for the first time ever, without their parents. At the seaside, drunk on freedom and high spirits, they meet a handsome young American who invites them to a dance at the local US airforce base. But young love and holiday romance could prove heartbreaking. Shamelessly nostalgic, this is an ideal show for fans of the music of the era.
