Poets' Manifesto at Theatre Royal Stratford East
Overview
Expect lip-smacking, jaw-dropping, tongue-twisting poetry from young spoken word artists as they perform their manifesto for Newham. The young people aged 14 to 25 acted as ambassadors and asked their peers what vision they have for Newham’s future. They then developed their own responses around the themes of diversity and equality. Working with leading performance poet Kat Francois their poems have been brought together to create a manifesto for young people unlike any other you may have come across before. Poets' Manifesto is one of the outcomes of Theatre Royal Stratford East and the Swan Foundation joining forces to find a new way of inspiring young people in Newham to get involved with politics and their local community.
