Easter Airlift at Royal Air Force Museum
Overview
A session looking at the Berlin Airlift, which reached its height on Good Friday 1949. In total by the end of the operation over 400,821 tonnes of food, coal and supplies were carried by over 689 aircraft, including RAF aircraft to the city, which had been cut off from the rest of the world by Russia. Taking inspiration from the display in the Battle of Britain Hall, 'String of Pearls', make a parachute and origami supply box, to drop supplies.
