Calder Quartet at Barbican Art Gallery
Overview
The players of the Calder Quartet from Los Angeles are as at ease performing with rock musicians Airborne Toxic Event and Andrew WK as they are in their incisive interpretations of the Classical repertoire. They have collaborated extensively with British composer Thomas Adès, and their lyrical performances of his nostalgic Arcadiana, seven exquisite miniatures evoking idyllic memories of places real and imagined, have been widely acclaimed.
