Hungry Hill at BFI Southbank
Overview
A full-blooded family saga and melodrama taken from a lesser-known novel by Daphne du Maurier, and adapted by her and Terence Young. The Brodricks, an Anglo-Irish family, have been feuding with the Donovans for generations. Long simmering antagonisms ignite with the Brodricks’ plan to open a copper mine. Predictably, no good can come from this and complications abound when Fanny Rosa (Margaret Lockwood) plays fast and loose with the affections of two Brodrick brothers.
