The classical crossover artist performs songs from his album With Love From Russell Watson, in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. From humble factory worker to world-famous tenor, Salford-born Russell Watson first achieved success after entering a local radio talent competition, which spurred him on to follow his passions and pursue a career in music. It was in 1999, after a performance of the World Cup anthem Nessun Dorma at Manchester United's Premiership-winning match at Old Trafford, when he started to gain true recognition. He released his debut album, The Voice in 2000, which won Album Of The Year at the Classical Brit Awards in 2001 and 2002. Now, nine albums later, the award-winning singer has become not only an international success as a performer, but is also recognised as a TV personality, having appeared in reality shows such as the BBCs Just The Two Of Us and Last Choir Standing. He will be joined in this charity concert by 2010 Classical Brit nominee the London-born soprano Camilla Kerslake, signed to Gary Barlow's new record label, who will be performing songs from her self-titled debut album, as well as duets with Watson. Also performing will be jazz singer Emer McParland and the SoundPower Orchestra.
