NIX006 Launch Party: Nisse Nilson + Behr + OJ Smooth at Plan B

Fresh from the successes of 2012, we the Nixfam, decided that we ought, with careless abandon, to throw a massive launch party for NIX006, The All The Memories EP by Nisse Nilson. It marks the beginning of a new series of records for 2013 with brand new artwork, new sounds but the same healthy dollop of vibes that you have all come to expect from us. Not one, but two debut UK performances make this one a night not to miss. Heading up the bill (we thought it only right) is the precocious young talent that is 19 year old Nisse Nilson himself. Having a regular residency down in Frankfurt’s Stadt Am Meer has given our man the opportunity to both hone his skills as a selector and also pick up inspiration for some of the chunkiest house and Techno sounds coming out of Germany. We were bowled over by this guy’s ability to tap into the clean, restrained Berlin sound but with the ruff edge of UK Techno that seems to be on the up again. We are super excited to have him over from Germany for what will be his first UK performance. Next up is the tech-house dream team: Behr. Their EP for us has been one of the most successful, generating so much excitement that it sold out in all UK record shops within days of it hitting the shelves, forcing immediate restock. With plaudits from all the right Jocks, including Heidi, Huxley and South London Ordnance, their infectious breed of vocal infused tech-house bangers that will pervade their set will leave you clammering for more. Join us as they bring their futuristic live show over to the shores of Blighty for the very first time. OJsmooth will be bringing with him the juicy grooves that make him the resident peach (or orange!) of Nixwax. His blend of UKG, Kerri Chandler-esque melodies and techy percussion make his sets some of the most varied and groovy we’ve heard all year. He opened proceedings last time, setting the mood for what was an incredible evening and he won’t be one to miss this time around. Lastly the Nixwax residents will be floating about much the same as last time and they might even play a handful of records, if you play your cards right.
