Overview

Five key figures in British science and the philosophy of science: Professor Dame Julia Higgins and Professor Chris Rapley, Cyril Hilsum, Mike Paillie and Dr Charlotte Sleigh, reflect upon how luck and chance feature in scientific practice and careers, and upon how scientists narrate the stories of their scientific work and their lives. This event is part of the Oral History of British Science project, funded by The Arcadia Fund. Over the course of the evening there will also be an opportunity to meet the Oral History of British Science team and explore the resources and interviews generated by the project. Complimentary wine and soft drinks will be provided after the discussion.
