Overview
Pilot Maverick saves his own and his wingman's life when they encounter two MiGs over the Persian Gulf. This secures him a place at the Top Gun Naval Flying School where he finds himself struggling with the attitudes of the other pilots and an old story about his father who once failed in combat and caused many people's death. Maverick fights to become the best pilot and to win Charlie's heart.
