The Highworth Folk Band at Royal Albert Hall
Overview
The Highworth Folk Band has been performing in and around Kent for several years for a wide variety of events: from ceilidhs and folk festivals through to formal concert tours. It is comprised of seven members who all have a passion for folk music and bringing it to the masses. The group like to take traditional British folk tunes and add their own modern twist through their own arrangements of, and improvisations around the traditional tunes. Music is an integral part of every group member. They all play and sing in a wide variety of groups and enjoy listening to and performing music from different styles and periods. The band enjoys performing in venues such as care homes and primary schools to see the affect that music can have when enjoyed by all, an in particular, those for whom access to live music is more rare.
