Conserving Thornhill’s Masterpiece at Old Royal Naval College Greenwich - The Painted Hall
Overview
Conservation work has been taking place on the west wall of the Painted Hall at the ORNC since December 2012. It's the 11th time it has been conserved in its 300 year history. Thornhill expert Richard Johns and conservator Stephen Paine lead a talk on the history of the creation and conservation of the magnificent paintings in the Painted Hall. There is also a chance to go up the scaffolding to see the conservation work up close.
