Marina and the Diamonds at Sanderson Hotel
Overview
Simmering and sparkling with pop songs, singer-songwriter Marina Lambrini Diamandis, also known as Marina and the Diamonds, first soared into the charts in 2010. Her split musical personality, veering from pop to ballads to rock, might have something to do with her half-Welsh, half-Greek roots. She rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll list. She’s not looked back and has had the chance to perform at Glastonbury, BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend and Reading and Leeds. Her influence is said to have come from a musicians such as Dolly Parton, Britney Spears and Nirvana. Look forward to collisions of genres on stage mixed with overblown outfits that will get you out of your seat.
