In Our Ears: Scratch at Battersea Arts Centre
Overview
A mind-bending immersive listening experience that calls up the basic physiological relationship to the natural world. Trip out to a contemporary listening ritual that combines live and recorded sounds from the natural world with resonances and rhythms borrowed from prehistory. Musician Nell Catchpole will work with sound designer/artist David Shepperd, drummer Kwake Bass and violinist Raven Bush to create unconventional 'instruments' made of natural materials. Working with the rhythmic and tonal structures used in rituals across the world to invoke a heightened state, the aim is to create a sonic wilderness that each listener can disappear into.
