Folk duo Hannah James and Sam Sweeney have an impressive list of musical credits, having performed and collaborated with some of the most well known names on the English folk scene. Originally half of the four-piece band Kerfuffle, James and Sweeney began performing as a duo in 2008. Their debut album ‘Catches & Glees’ was critically acclaimed, and in 2010 they were nominated for the Horizon Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. They play predominantly English songs and tunes on accordion and fiddle, and their live show includes high-energy clog dancing from James, who has danced in The Demon Barbers Roadshow ‘Time Gentlemen Please!’ as well as singing with trio Lady Maisery. Sweeney is a member of the award-winning cultural sensation Bellowhead and also performs with Fay Heid & The Hurricane Party.
