The Tate Britain Commission: Simon Starling

Overview

The Tate Britain Commission invites an artist to develop a new work in response to the Tate collection, highlighting the continuum of visual and intellectual ideas between historic and contemporary art.

This year, renowned artist Simon Starling will create an ambitious new project to be unveiled in the Duveen Galleries.

Through his work, Starling reveals the hidden histories, processes and economies that bring objects, images or events into being.

Starling was awarded the Turner Prize in 2005 and has had recent solo exhibitions at Tate St Ives and Kunsthal Charlottenberg, Copenhagen. He lives and works in Copenhagen.
