Overview

The one thing that has remained constant throughout this Scottish rock band's history is drummer Bobby Gillespie's presence. The former Jesus and Mary Chain drummer formed the band in 1985 with Jim Beattie who has since left. The group have had Top Ten hits with 'Rocks/Funky Jam', 'Kowalski' and 'Country Girl'. The current line-up is Bobby Gillespie (drums), Gary 'Mani' Mounfield (bass) and touring guitarist Kevin Shields.
