Patrick Bishop: Wings - A Century of Aerial Warfare at Churchill War Rooms
Overview
In this talk historian and author Patrick Bishop tells the story of the evolution of aerial warfare, from rickety contraptions flying over the Western Front to the high-tech fast jets and pilotless drones operating in Afghanistan today. Patrick will describe some of the extraordinary characters who filled the ranks of the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm, and Churchill’s early involvement with the RAF. Copies of Patrick’s new book Wings: A Century of Aerial Warfare will be available to purchase at the event and Patrick will be happy to sign copies for guests.
