Tower Bridge Engineering Tours 2013 at Tower Bridge Exhibition
Overview
Annual Engineering Tours take place every weekend and include access to areas that are normally out-of-bounds to the public. The tour is divided into two parts, with the first part led by one of Tower Bridge’s experienced tour guides. It includes an audio-visual exploration of Tower Bridge Exhibition, which explains the fascinating history of the Bridge and its construction, the panoramic Walkways suspended 42 metres above the Thames with their far-reaching views across London and the atmospheric Victorian Engine Rooms which house the magnificent restored steam pumping engines, accumulators and boilers that were used to power the bridge lifts until 1976.
