BAFTA Masterclass: The Music and Sound Design of Les Miserables at BFI Southbank
Overview
The sound and music teams – including composer Claude-Michel Schönberg behind the film adaptation of Les Misérables discuss the unique way the sound has been designed. With songs recorded live on the set, the actors were allowed to express themselves in a naturalistic way leading to real, gritty and extraordinary performances. The adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation, still breaking box-office records everywhere in its 27th year, is helmed by The King’s Speech’s BAFTA Award-winning director, Tom Hooper.
