The Beauty Queen of Leenane at Compass Theatre and Arts Centre
Overview
Martin McDonagh's play is a blend of dark comedy, melodrama, horror and tragedy. Set in County Galway, 'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' tells the tale of Maureen Folan, a plain, lonely woman in her early 40s, and Mag, her manipulative, ageing mother. When Mag interferes in Maureen's first and possibly final chance of a relationship, a tragic train of events is set in motion.
