These are the Youths that Thunder at a Playhouse at Shakespeare's Globe
Overview
In the first of a series of talks by young scholars, 'Great annoyance and trouble: bad boys in Elizabethan theatre', Dr Sarah Dustagheer (King’s College) and Dr Andy Kesson (University of Kent) discuss the plays and playhouses of Jacobean London. They explore the relationships between indoor playhouses, their companies and their audiences, and look particularly at the first Blackfriars theatre and the work of its proprietor John Lyly.
