The Beau Street Hoard at The British Museum
Overview
In Bath in 2007 a hoard of moneybags containing an estimated 22,000 Roman coins were discovered just 150 metres from the Roman Baths. The coins were fused together in a large block and Museum staff are currently halfway through a year-long archaeological and conservation project to answer many of the questions posed by the discovery. In this lecture, Stephen Clews from the Roman Baths and British Museum experts working on the project reveal the story so far.
