Real Food Christmas Market at Southbank Centre Square
Overview
Get all your seasonal treats and gifts from the very best artisans at the Southbank Centre's Real Food Christmas Market.
Bypass the mad rush and crush of crowds, boycott the supermarkets and their bright glare and bad practices, and enjoy your Christmas shopping at the Real Food Market. Accompanied by a hot cup of mulled wine or hot spiced cider, stopping for some restoring, properly made street food, buy directly from the producers who help make Christmas special.
Hand made, artisan chocolates, a wide selection of farmhouse, raw-milk cheeses, including Christmas favorites Stichelton and Vacherin, sparkling wines, spirits, obviously the best turkeys, geese, lamb or beef and much much more.
The Flour Station will have wonderful artisan Panettone, imported from a small producer, Perbellini, in Italy. This is not the two-year-shelf-life, preservative-and-additive-laden, industrial product you mostly find around, but a crafted, artisan product made with free-range eggs and pure butter. And mince pies will be coming fresh out of their own ovens!
Get your order in early and come down to the market to collect your free-range bronze turkey or goose from the Thoroughly Wild Meat Co or Label Anglais at farm gate price!
Real Christmas Trees: from 30 November you will also be able to pick up beautiful, traditional hand-made Christmas wreaths and Christmas trees too. The trees are grown in Kent, managed by the Forestry Commission, where more trees are planted every year than are harvested. Real trees also use about 10 times fewer materials and five times less energy than artificial trees.
