Doris Day Season at BFI Southbank
Overview
BFI Southbank is celebrating Hollywood golden girl Doris Day with a selection of her best-loved films.
For seven consecutive years from 1959, Day was one of the top four box-office attractions, alongside Rock Hudson, Cary Grant and James Stewart. Although it has been 44 years since she quit films, Day is still the top female box office draw of all time.
To show why Day's success was justified, BFI is showing some of her most famous movies, such as Tea for Two (1950), The Pajama Game (1957), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) and Midnight Lace (1960).
