Beasts of the Southern Wild at BFI Southbank

Overview
Beasts of the Southern Wild' is a highly inventive movie. It whisks kids off to a surreal realm, where little girls and mythical animals coexist in a Louisiana bayou. Motherless six-year-old Hushpuppy relentlessly explores her world, to satisfy her curiosity, and to make her mark on a world she's only beginning to comprehend. While her dad is in and out of hospital, an impending storm could wash away their ramshackle little community, and rumour goes that the melting ice caps are going to release a herd of prehistoric aurochs.
