The Art of the Felt Mistress at Foyles Bookshop
Overview
If you collect designer vinyl or hand-made plush toys, if you're interested in fashion, or if you're just into contemporary character design and urban art generally, chances are you will have seen or heard something about the creations of Felt Mistress. A former couture dress maker, Louise has brought her years of experience to the world of felt character design. She's been commissioned to produce shop window displays for Oxford Street's prestigious department store Selfridges as well as stitching hundreds of fabulous felt characters into life and exhibiting them in galleries around the world. Louise mainly works collaboratively with her partner - illustrator and toy designer Jonathan Edwards as well as with some of the most interesting urban artists working today, such as Pete Fowler and Jon Burgerman. Louise and Jonathan will be in conversation with the book's editor and designer, Woodrow Phoenix, at this special event to celebrate the publication of Creature Couture.
