Cul-De-Sac at Theatre 503
Overview
Cul-De-Sac is the debut play by award-winning comedian Matthew Osborn. A spin on the Stepford Wives, Cul-De-Sac is a twisted tale of curtain twitching in British suburbia. Casting includes the absurd comic delights of three stand-up comedians and actors - Alan Francis, Julian Dutton and Mike Hayley. A new house in the safety of a leafy suburb. A lovely wife, a beautiful daughter, and the soft hum of lawnmowers. But when Tim meets neighbour, Nigel, he begins to suspect that all is not as it seems in the cul-de-sac. Who is the mysterious Tony Devereux, and what is Nigel’s strange attraction to him? Can Dr Cole cure Nigel’s uncontrollable urges? Not to mention his own. Cul-de-Sac was developed through Itch: A Scratch Event, the Comedians Theatre Company's new writing project, and originally co-produced by the Pleasance in Edinburgh.
