The Judas Kiss at Duke of York's Theatre
Overview
In this acclaimed revival of David Hare’s compelling 1998 drama, it is 1895, and Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece, 'The Importance of Being Earnest', is playing in the West End after a triumphant premiere. However, already wheels are in motion that will lead to his imprisonment, downfall and vilification. Forced to make a choice between his lover and freedom, the ever-romantic Wilde embarks on a course towards self-destruction, against the wishes of his friends and his better judgment. Rupert Everett stars as Oscar Wilde, with Freddie Fox as Lord Alfred Douglas, in a devastating tale of the power of all-consuming love and the cruelty of betrayal.
