The Rest is Noise at the Southbank Centre
Overview
London's Southbank Centre is celebrating contemporary classical music with a year-long festival inspired by Alex Ross' book, The Rest is Noise.
Music critic Alex Ross provides a riveting history of 20th-century classical music in his best-selling and prize-winning book The Rest is Noise.
And now, this eponymous festival seeks to bring the book to life with almost 100 concerts, films, talks and debates, all of which explore 20th-century classical music in the context of historical, political and cultural upheavals.
This festival is perfect for lovers of classical concerts who need help with contemporary music. It's also great for anyone beginning to discover classical music.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra is performing more than 30 concerts during the festival.
