An Introduction to Narrative: An A Level Study Day at BFI Southbank
Overview
As part of the BFI’s Alfred Hitchcock celebration this talk focuses on Vertigo (1958). The screening of this film and an interactive session with comparative clips from other Hitchcock films and other filmmakers explores how the interrelationships between macro and micro film elements convey film stories. While the central case study is targeted at the ‘Single Film-Critical Study’ unit for WJEC A2 Film Studies, this event is equally suitable for AS Media and Film courses as an introduction to moving image narrative, genre and language; and to audience responses.
