Brixton Street Markets at Brixton Market
Overview
Street trading takes place in Electric Avenue, Pope's Road and Brixton Station Road. These streets form a large pedestrianised area in central Brixton, linking to the covered arcades. Most days there's about eighty street traders, some of whom have been trading in Brixton for years. You will always find the permanent traders on the same pitch, selling everything for the household, from fruit and veg to children's toys. With its great choice of world produce at modest prices, and with a minimum of frills and packaging, Brixton Market fills the gaps the supermarkets cannot reach.
