Julius Caesar at Donmar Warehouse

In a year of many adaptations and versions of Shakespeare's classic works, Phyllida Lloyd's new production at the Donmar Warehouse, looks to be perhaps the most radical and confrontational. Set within a Women's Prison, this version of Julius Caesar presents an all-female cast, performing a play-within-a-play version of the classic tale of political back-stabbing and public revolt. Already dividing opinion amongst viewers, if nothing else, this looks set to be more than just a final footnote to an all-encompassing year for the Bard.
