Tabea Martin + Alma Sderberg at The Place
Overview
Currency is a new programme that presents some of the most exciting and creative new works from Europe and the rest of world in a friendly and interactive format to encourage discussion and engagement with artists that challenge their audience to think in new ways. Tabea Martin's 'Duet for Two Dancers' takes a look at the anxiety of not living up to your own expectations, or those which a profession or society imposes. In 'Travail', Alma Söderberg plays with combining fragments cut from newspapers, creating collages from clippings that have caught her attention to create ingenuous rhythmic scores in which movement, rhythm, music, sound and language open up possibilities for multiple, unexpected meanings to take shape.
