Lunchtime Concert: David Sadlier, Lelia Sadlier at St. Martin-in-the-Fields
Overview
This husband and wife team specialises in German Lieder and British Art-Song. The forthcoming centennial of Benjamin Britten and bicentennial of Richard Wagner give the duo an excuse to share both of these genres with today's audience. David and Lelia Sadlier have been performing together for over fifteen years and their recitals have taken them throughout the United States of America and Europe. Most recently, they performed Schubert's epic Die schöne Müllerin in the St. Anne's Recital Series in Oxford. David and Lelia's 2010 celebration of Schumann's 200th anniversary ('Schumania') consisted of concerts in the USA, England and Holland with one reviewer commenting; '[David] captured the total unreality of this overheated romaticism and transported his listeners into this rarefied world.'
