Unearthing the Egyptians: An Ancient History Event for KS2 at BFI Southbank
Overview
This event is designed to complement a screening of the 60-minute IMAX film: Mysteries of Egypt. After seeing the film at the BFI IMAX in Waterloo, pupils and teachers will then come to BFI Southbank (5 minutes walk) for a clip-based presentation using films from the BFI National Archive’s extensive collection. Documentary material, fiction films and news reels from the time of the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb in the 1920s will be included, plus the fiction films the discovery has spawned since then. A teachers’ pack will also be included.
