Bonjour Les Enfants: A Modern Foreign Languages Event for Pupils of French at KS2 at BFI Southbank
Overview
This event has been developed to assist in the teaching of French by focusing on film as an original and creative approach to learning more about French culture and accessing a wider range of vocabulary in a fun and lively atmosphere. A variety of carefully selected short foreign language films from the new BFI DVD, Cine-minis, will form the basis of the event plus clips from suitable feature films. Pupils will be introduced to films from other cultures, and there will be a variety of interactive activities to build on pupils’ understanding and vocabulary. The afternoon includes an introduced screening of a suitable French film. A teachers’ resource pack will be available with plenty of follow-on activities.
