French Film Approaches: A GCSE Study Day at BFI Southbank
Overview
This event has been designed with the ‘Media’ aspect of all the French GCSE specifications in mind in order to assist students with their understanding of film and to aid their preparation for the written exam paper. The morning clip-based presentation will focus on suitable films that students may want to select as their chosen media, and film terminology will be explained and demonstrated through textual analysis to familiarise students with the language of film which they can utilise in their examination writing. There will be opportunities for group work and discussion to help develop ideas and approaches and suitable film-related French vocabulary will be given. An afternoon screening of a film chosen by teachers will be shown with opportunities for discussion in French.
