Hansel and Gretel at National Theatre: Cottesloe Theatre
Overview
Brothers Grimm fairytale Hansel and Gretel has been re-imagined for the stage in this enchanting play aimed at seven to 10-year-olds.
Hansel and Gretel follows the fate of two children who become lost in a haunted wood and then follow a trail of breadcrumbs to a bewitching house made of sweets.
The play is the third Christmas show that director Katie Mitchell has worked on at the National Theatre. Mitchell's 2010 interpretation of Beauty and the Beast earned her an Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment.
