Acting: An Introduction to Stanislavski and the Method at Central Saint Martins - King's Cross
Overview
Konstantin Stanislavski was one of the greatest living theatre practitioners who transformed the actors training from formulated cliché to inner process and emotional reality. His legacy still lives on today in the training of actors worldwide. Nowhere was this more prevalent than in America where a group of visionaries, Harold Clurman, Stella Adler and Lee Strasburg took Stanislavski's work and developed what is now known as the 'Method', made famous by the Actors Studio New York, who produced actors such as Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. In this course you will be given the founding basis of the actors training. Asking the questions of Who, What, When, Where and Why? The actor will be guided though a series of structured exercises and improvisations designed to release the imaginative and emotional world of the actor. Over the ten weeks you will learn how to work on and by yourself using the most important tool that you have at your disposal 'You'.
