Jack the Ripper's London at Museum of London Docklands
Overview
Jack the Ripper's London offers an opportunity to investigate the conditions of the East End at the time of the Ripper. In atmospheric Sailortown, students meet Constable Albert Long, a policeman working in Whitechapel, to find out about the problems faced by the police in the Victorian East End. The day also includes a sources workshop where students investigate contemporary images and objects to discover more about life at the time, and the final part of the day is an opportunity to investigate the first port of empire and City and River galleries with focused activities.
