The Thames: Connecting London at Museum of London Docklands

Overview

The Thames: Connecting London is a session to investigate the history and geography of Docklands through its transport and trade connections past and present. By tracing the route of the Thames using historical and modern maps, plans and photographs pupils discover the central role of the river on settlement, growth and the development of London. They also use imported commodities to investigate distant countries of origin, transport methods and routes. A self-directed gallery visit supported by a resource pack extends learning.
