Prudential RideLondon 2013: London's Cycling Festival
Overview
Hop on your bike and join Prudential RideLondon, a world-class festival of cycling in London. Inspired by Team GB's success at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Prudential RideLondon will bring a big weekend of cycling fun to the capital.
Even if you can't ride as fast as Bradley Wiggins, you can still take part in the Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle or take to the streets to cheer on the world elite in Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic and Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix.
Prudential RideLondon includes four cycling events:
Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle: An eight-mile central London route on closed roads for up to 50,000 people
Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix: Also known as Criterium Racing, this invitational city centre loop will provide a focus for the women's elite, hand-cycles and youth groups
Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100: A 100-mile challenge ride including charitable fundraising through London and Surrey via Richmond Park, expected to attract 20,000 riders in year one
Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic: Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and following part of the Olympic Road Race route this race will see the international men's elite take to the roads of London and Surrey for what is expected to become part of the UCI's official race calendar
