Heloise Goodley: An Officer and a Gentlewoman at National Army Museum
Overview
A talk by Héloïse Goodley, who quit her job as a City banker in 2007 and decided to attend officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. She charts her absorbing journey through Sandhurst and on to Afghanistan and gives an insight into the life and customs at this hidden institution. She sheds new light on what has hitherto been a bastion of maleness, the British Army. Since joining the army, Goodley has completed two operational tours of Afghanistan and currently holds the rank of captain as adjutant of an Apache helicopter regiment.
