The Clothes Making Course 1 at City Lit

You will learn how to set up and use a sewing machine and the basic stitches. You will make samples of various methods for seams, darts, zips, waist facings and hems. Skills can also be developed through practising on a skirt sample for which the tutor will supply the pattern. You will then move on to choose and use a straightforward commercial pattern and use skills learnt to construct a simple skirt of your choice. Basic hand sewing will also be taught.
