Peter And Alice at the Noel Coward Theatre
Overview
Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw star in Peter And Alice, a remarkable new play exploring a meeting between the real life inspirations for Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan.
Written by John Logan, Peter And Alice is the story of Alice Liddell Hargreaves and Peter Llewelyn Davies who meet at the opening of a Lewis Carroll exhibition in 1932. As the inspiration for Alice In Wonderland comes face to face with the boy behind Peter Pan, enchantment and reality collide; their brief encounter lays bare the lives of these two extraordinary characters.
Star of stage and screen, Judi Dench returns to the West End following critically acclaimed performances in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Rose Theatre, Kingston and Madame De Sade in 2009's Donmar West End season.
Ben Whishaw's stage credits include Cock at the Royal Court, Some Trace Of Her and The Seagull at the National Theatre and Mercury Fur for Paines Plough. On screen, he's played Q in the latest Bond film, Skyfall; Keats in Bright Star; and will star as Robert Frobisher in the new Cloud Atlas adaptation.
A playwright and screenwriter, Logan's numerous plays include the Tony Award-winning Red, which was also directed by Michael Grandage.
