Overview

The world's biggest darts tournament returns to Alexandra Palace as 72 players from around the world compete for £1 million in prize money.

The tournament is being played over 15 days over the Christmas and New Year period, with players from more than 20 countries taking part.

For the past two years, Adrian "Jackpot" Lewis has won the tournament.

The Championship begins on 14 December with the first of eight sessions involving the preliminary round and first round, with the second round also being held before Christmas.

The third round concludes on 27 December, before the quarter-finals are split over two nights on 28 and 29 December. The semi-finals will then be played on 30 December before the finalists return on New Year’s Day to contest for the number-one spot.

Alexandra Palace is one mile from the North Circular (A406) and 5 miles from Junction 2 on the M1 motorway. Junction 25 on the M25 is just 8 miles away. An easy route from the City is the A10 then west onto the A109. From the West End take the A400 to Archway via Camden Town, then the A1 and follow signs to the Palace.
