Quartermaine's Terms at the Wyndham's Theatre
Overview
Rowan Atkinson makes a rare stage appearance as the titular St. John Quartermaine, in this revival of Simon Gray's 1982 play of British manners and painful loneliness. Set in an English language school for foreigners in the 1960s, Quartermaine is a hopeless teacher at the centre of a group of colleagues whom we see over several years. Always available to listen to their self-obsessed problems, he is an almost permanent feature in the staff room. But when a new Principal is appointed, Quartermaine’s future looks precarious.
