This display showcases highlights from the collections while their permanent home, Room 41. The British Museum's collections covering the period AD 300 to 1100 are among the largest and most comprehensive in the world, extending from Spain to the Black Sea and from North Africa to Scandinavia. Objects on display in Room 2 during this period include famous finds from the ship-burial at Sutton Hoo, as well as other artefacts that reflect the great artistic achievements of the period, from the end of the Roman Empire to the consolidation of Europe and the Norman Conquest in England.
